The Borough Food Cooperative opened in October 2020. With help from organisations like FareShare and The Felix Project, the BFC acts as a subsidised supermarket - offering members to stop in and pick up £20-25 worth of groceries for only £4.50.
Membership is flexible - so you only pay when you come. This could be 3 times a week, once a month or anything in between. Members can choose from an assortment fresh fruit and vegetables which such as strawberries, lettuce, peppers, apples, potatoes, oranges, mangoes and cauliflowers. We stock dry store goods too, such as: pasta, eggs, bread, pastries, tea, crisps, personal care products, rice, biscuits, tinned goods, cereal bars and sugar. The Cooperative also offers a range of chilled goods like: milk, cheese, butter, bacon, mince, sausages, ready meals and hummus. Delicious meals made in our kitchen are also up for grabs!
The store is operated COVID-consciously and we take every possible precaution to help minimise risk to members and volunteers. If you are unable to visit due to practicality concerns, please email food@sgtm.org.uk to set up a delivery.
Please help us and become a member! Anyone can join, regardless of circumstance and we need as many members as possible in order to continue providing the service.
Current Cooperative Store Opening Times:
Tuesday 11:00 – 15:00
Thursday 11:00-15:00
Saturday 11:00-16:00
We are volunteer-operated, so we're always looking for volunteers to help manage the store and assist with stock rotations, cooking prep and deliveries. Are you able to commit any hours 09:00 -16:00 Monday – Saturday? If so, please call the church at 020 7357 7331 or email food@sgtm.org.uk.
