RESTORATION PROJECT UPDATE - MAY 2018
We are now reaching the end of the roof restoration with scaffolding due to start coming down this month. The roof and parapet are almost completed. The church has seem some internal changes as well with brand new glass doors being installed inside the main entrance. They are already making a big difference in reducing noise and keeping the church warm in this unseasonable spring weather! Work has now started installing our kitchen in the church - come along to Community Cafe on Thursday afternoons from 2pm!
Thanks to all our generous donors: Heritage Lottery Fund, Marshall’s Charity, The Wolfson Foundation, National Churches Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation, AllChurches Trust Limited and The Leche Trust.

St George the Martyr added to 2017 Heritage at Risk Register. Our Building and Renovations Project is more important than ever! Please support this project through a donation (contributions can be made using the link found on the Donations page).
This project is made possible with support by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Marshall's Charity, National Churches Trust, The Wolfson Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, AllChurches Trust Limited - and you! The project includes urgent repairs to roof-level stonework and guttering (currently causing leaks into the church), masonry repairs around the church (which have been crumbling) and cleaning the exterior stonework of the church. The repairs allow the church more space for hospitality and activities for the community.

Scaffolding, scaffolding and more scaffolding! The scaffolding is now up on all four sides of the building. We will continue to open our doors throughout the project so don't think the church has disppeared behind all of the scaffolding!
